It was one year since His Royal Highness, Eze Austin Sunday Ojukwu ascended the throne as the Eze Ndigbo of Amuwo Odofin LGA on Saturday 14th November 2020. The event, held at the FHA sports ground, Festac Town Lagos, and it was celebrated alongside the OFALA festival which serves as a rite of renewal of the king and known to be celebrated by the Igbos.

Present at the ceremony was Comrade Ayodele Adewale the immediate past Chairman Amuwo Odofin LGA who expressed his profound appreciation for the invite as a special guest and personally congratulated Eze Austin Ojukwu on his 1st year anniversary as King after ascending the throne to become the head (Eze) of the ruling palace situated at Ado Soba, Amuwo Odofin LGA.

Comrade Ayodele seized the opportunity to advise the Eze to maintain the good relationship that exists between the Igbos and other ethnic groups.

He urged the Eze to continue to use his good office to foster peaceful coexistence among members of his community as well as serve as a rally point for the Igbos within and outside the local government.


The occasion which has HRM IGWE ELIBE OKONKWO EZEDIORAMMA III of ALOR KINGDOM (the hometown of Eze Augustine Ojukwu) as the traditional Father of the day was well attended with several popular Igbo masquerades present to entertain the guests who obviously had more than enough to eat and drink.

Others present at the August occasion are Chief Joe Igbokwe the APC spokesman for Lagos State, the current chairman Amuwo Odofin LGA, one time commissioner in IMO state under Roachas Okorocha, the immediate past president Igbo speaking community and leader of Ndigbo in Lagos State APC, Chief Chris Ekwilo (Political gas)
President general of Ndigbo in Kano state and so many others too numerous to mention.
