TOPIC: HOW TO DEAL DECISIVELY WITH YOUR ENEMIES SCRIPTURALLY

Proverbs 25: 21-22

Who is an enemy?…one that is antagonistic to another
especially : one seeking to injure, overthrow, or confound an opponent.

THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION is a golden chain with which the hands of men are fettered from all hatred. The spirit of Christ is love. Wherever he governs, love reigns as a necessary consequence. The Christian man is not allowed to hate any one. Ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, “Thou shalt love thy neighbor and hate thy enemy; but I say unto you,” said Jesus, “Love your enemies; do good to them that hate you, and pray for them that despitefully use you.” The word “hate” must be cut out of the language of a Christian, except it be used with one meaning and intention only, and that, the meaning of my text. Thou hast no right, O Christian, to tolerate within thy bosom wrath, malice, anger, harshness, or uncharitableness, towards any creature that God’s hands have made. When thou hatest the man’s sins, thou art not to hate him, but to love the sinner, even as Christ loved sinners and came to seek and save them.

Christians must quit the work of seeking revenge against those who harm us. Why? As God’s children, that’s our Father’s work, and He’s better at it than we are. Instead of seeking petty revenge on our own terms, we should leave justice to the omnipotent God of the universe.

“If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the LORD will reward you.”
Romans 12:20

The first verse says if I see that someone who hates me, my enemy, “is hungry” or “thirsty” I am supposed to “give him food to eat” (and don’t poison it!) and/or “given him water to drink.” That is not generally my first response!

But the second verse adds, when I do respond like this, I “will heap burning coals on his head.” And, on top of that, “the LORD will reward me.” Now, that’s what I’m talking about!

Of course, literally doing this burning coals thing would kill them. But our verses are using such an action as a metaphor to feeding that person and giving them drink.

So, taken together, these verses suggest – when I see my enemy struggling with something (hungry, thirsty), I should do something to help (food, drink). In doing so, I can really destroy my enemy – destroy them by making them my friend. As the modern wise saying goes – “kill them with kindness!”

THIS is a very pithy verse, and the form of it greatly assists the memory. It is worthy to be called a Christian proverb. I would recommend every Christian man to learn it by heart, and have it ready for use; for there are a great many proverbs, which convey a very different sense, and these are often quoted to give the weight of authority to unchristian principles. Here is an inspired proverb; carry it with you, and use it as a weapon with which to parry the thrusts of the world’s wisdom. “Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.”

Observe that the text appears to give us a choice between two things, and bids us choose the better one.

You must either be overcome of evil, or you must yourself overcome evil: one of the two. You cannot let evil alone and evil will not let you alone. You must fight, and in the battle you must either conquer or be conquered.

WHAT ABOUT BACK TO SENDER PRAYERS?
Back to sender prayer is done when a person believes that he/she is being bewitched, cursed, wronged or spiritually attacked by someone perceived to be an enemy. This perceived enemy could be anyone from a relative, workmate, church member, neighbour and so forth.
If a person prays a back-to-sender prayer against his enemy, that person is simply saying “Let whatever evil you send or intend for me, return to you in the same form you intended for me”.
So whether the evil intention is perceived or assumed to be witchcraft, cursing, death, poor finances etc, the sender must receive the same outcome if a back-to-sender prayer is made.

The truth is that the back-to-sender
doctrine is anti-Christ in its purest form.
The back-to-sender prayers are occultic
stunts. That’s the Word of God.
Ever heard of back-to-sender prayers? If
you
are in Nigeria, you must have. Other
variants
of the prayer is fire-for-fire, dangerous
prayers, etc.
The back-to-sender prayer is one of the
worst
things to have hit the Body of Christ in the
last
15 years. It is pure evil and in direct
disobedience to our Lord and Saviour Jesus
Christ.

Back to sender prayers are wrong teaching and the practice of a
doctrine
that has consumed so many Christians,
denied
them their blessings, and prevented them
from
realizing their true potential.
You see, that’s the enemy at work, and the
only way he works is to change a word or
two,
turn God’s Word upside down and get you
to
practice the opposite of what God instructs
so
that you automatically step out of favour
with
God, then bad things begin to happen.

A wrong diagnosis means
that a wrong solution will be applied. And a
wrong solution means that the problem will
persist.

“My people are destroyed for lack
of knowledge.” saith the LORD. Hosea 4:6
Back-to-sender is all about sending back
evil to
whoever sent it to you. Back-to-sender
prayers involved a set of activities which
involve using words to turn back any
spiritual
evil sent towards the person and direct it
back
to the source which is another person.
This back-to-sender circuit has become
very
popular and creative too, I might add.
People
have written books, and built empires, and
obtained global fame and recognition by
promoting the back-to-sender doctrine. I
have
heard or read some very comical prayer
points spawned by this doctrine of fear.
Some
pastors have unknowingly adopted the
doctrine because it sounds right and
appears
scriptural and because the forerunners
appear
to be “making it in ministry”.
The truth is that the back-to-sender
doctrine is
anti-Christ in its purest form. The back-to-
sender prayers are occultic stunts. That’s
the Word of God.
Our Lord Jesus Christ instructed us directly
and as clearly as any instruction can be. “But I
say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them
that curse you, do good to them that hate you,
and pray for them which despitefully use you,
and persecute you;.” Matthew 5:44 So, where
did all this “Anybody who is planning my death,
fall and die” come from? Jesus Christ taught us
to forgive those who hurt us, ““I tell you, not
seven times, but seventy-seven times.”
Matthew 18:21-22 and He even taught us
to remind our Heavenly Father about our
having forgiven others who offended us when we prayer. [Read the Lord’s Prayer at
Matthew
6:9-13 and Luke 11:2-4] Where does the
“any evil arrow sent in my direction, back to the
sender” chime come in? These scripture
show
that back-to-sender is anti-Christ.
How is it an occultic stunt? If someone
sends
evil your way, it is definitely not the Holy
Spirit
or angels that are meant to execute it. It
has to be demons. So, if you are communicating
with demons and sending them on errands
to other human beings, it means you are a
demonist, a diabolical person and one who
operates in the spirit realm using demons to
execute his instructions or wishes is an
occultist. A Christian who does this is no
better than the person who sent the evil to him in thefirst place. If it is witchcraft, returning it is
an act of witchcraft.
This evil has got to stop. Back-to-sender
prayers is the worst kind of fear. Christians
need not be afraid of anything. Our Lord
Jesus
said it, “Nothing shall by any means hurt
you.”
Believe him and stop walking in fear but in
love.
Luke 10:19

The vast majority of the people practicing
back
to sender are living in frustration. Their
prayers
are not answered. Grace has departed
from
them. They are missing out on the
goodness of
the Kingdom and I feel sorry for them and
every Christian who knows the truth should
too.

Back-to-Sender fosters hatred and bitterness instead of love
One of the ways we can overcome evil with good is by responding in love, or by praying for the very people who have wronged us.

Back-to-Sender encourages a spirit of revenge!
God prohibits us from seeking revenge against our enemies. Instead we must leave vengeance to God alone.

Back to sender prayers are wrong and ungodly. Such prayers contradict the word of God. A back to sender prayer does not move the hand of God but it encourages demonic activity. They are “prayers” of revenge and unforgiveness which are contrary to the nature and character of Jesus Christ and what He taught us.

“Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.”
Romans 12:14

Back to sender prayers are word and utterances that contradict the Scriptures of God. The fact that God prohibits repaying evil with evil or acts of revenge, is evidence that God does not answer prayers that are contrary to His word or divine will.

Back-to-Sender encourages people to repay evil with evil
The very definition, concept and motive regarding back to sender “prayer points” is that evil acts must be repaid with evil acts. Therefore if an enemy or a witch supposedly curses you or bewitches you, then a back to sender “prayer” must also curse or bewitch the enemy.

However the Bible forbids Christians from committing evil. Romans 12:17 says: Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all.

Romans 12:21 says: “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation. Never pay back evil for evil. Respect what is right in the sight of all men. If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. “But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good.
Romans 12: 14-21

GOD IS LOVE!
God is love and we His offsprings must also live and work in love so we can truely represent Him on earth.

The feeling of love is highest frequency you can emit. The greater the love you feel and emit, the greater the power you are harnessing.

God is love and that’s why there’s no greater power in the universe than the power of love.
If could wrap every of your thoughts in love, if you could love everything and everyone, your life would be transformed.

If you think unkind thoughts about someone else, you will those unkind thoughts manifested. You cannot harm another with your thoughts, you can only harm You!.
If you think thoughts of love, guess who receives the benefits…you! So if your predominant state is love, the law of love responds with the mightiest force because you are on the highest frequency possible.
There’s no getting away from the law of love. It is the feeling that imparts vitality to thought. Feeling is desire and desire is love. Thought impregnated with love becomes invincible.

Brother and sister, we were once God’s enemies too. Before we met His Son, we were against Him. Yet, Jesus died on the cross to pay for the wages of our sins, and because we believed and confessed, we have been saved. Jesus not only fed us the bread of life which gives us eternal life from Heaven, but He also gave us living water – the Spirit – so that we may never thirst or hunger again because we have received the source of spiritual and eternal life.
