LIFE AND DEATH IN OUR TONGUES, DECREE A THING NOW!

IN THE DAYS OF HIS POWER SERIES.

TOPIC: POWER OF LIFE AND DEATH IN OUR TONGUES, DECREE A THING NOW!

COMPILED/EDITED BY:-

“A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; [and] with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life [are] in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof”.
Proverbs 18:20-21

In these days of unmitigated violence and killings across the length and breath of our country Nigeria by the ISLAMIST JIHADISTS whose sole aim is to either destroy or subjugate us, i so much believe that Christians should realize the power they are have in their tongues and start defeating the enemies of our souls and faith by decreeing their defeat with our mouths, BECAUSE POWER AND DEATH IS IN THE POWER OF THE TONGUE AND IF WE DARE TO DECREE A THING, IT MUST COME TO PASS!

At this point in time we must be careful with what we say, how we use our tongues because most of the times we energize our enemies with what we think and believe.
If we want to start seeing the power of God manifest in our lives, we will have to start paying attention to what we say. Words have power—more than any of us realize, but we often speak them as though they are meaningless. Because of that, most believers at one time or another have been hung by their tongue.

A lot is at stake in what we say today. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21).
In literate societies, tongues include hands that write, type, paint, or sign.

People die because of something said. Tongues can be weapons of mass destruction, launching holocausts and wars. Tongues can also be the death of marriages, families, friendships, churches, careers, hopes, understanding, reputations, missionary efforts, and governments.

But people also live because of something said. The tongue can be “a tree of life” (Proverbs 15:4). Tongues reconcile peoples and make peace. “Blessed are the peacemakers” (Matthew 5:9). Tongues can make marriages sweet, families strong, and churches healthy. Tongues can give hope to the despairing, advance understanding, and spread the gospel.

“But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”
Mathew 12:36,37

Every idle word” simply means nonproductive.

These are words that you speak but don’t believe. For example, you might say, “I’m dying to see my grandchildren.” You really don’t mean you’re dying, but you say it anyway to emphasize the importance of the relationship.
Every time you say things that you don’t really mean, it begins to numb your heart.

Unconsciously, each idle word is making it just a little bit harder to believe what you say will actually come to pass when you mean it and it really counts.

Jesus certainly understood the power of words, and He used them to change the natural things around him.
Mark 11:13-14 and 20-24 say,
“And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it…. And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

I can almost hear the inflections in Peter’s voice when he said, “The fig tree You cursed is withered away.” I am sure it communicated surprise and disbelief.

And when Jesus replied to Peter, it probably was not in a monotone voice. It was more like, “PETER! WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU?” Jesus was amazed at his unbelief. He was saying, “It shouldn’t shock you to see this tree withered. Have faith in God.”
Then He went on to explain that this wasn’t limited to a fig tree. He used a mountain as an example, but I believe it could apply to anything.

He was making the point that if we say it with our mouths and believe it in our hearts, we can have what we say.
He also made it very clear who qualified to use words in this way: He said, “whosoever shall say.” Are you a whosoever? Because if you are and if you’re breathing, then you’re qualified, and your words can affect the natural as well as the spiritual world.
Jesus used the word “say” or “saith” three times in verse 23. He was making it clear that words have power. But He also said to have faith in God. The words that have power are words that are filled with faith. And it’s important to understand that the faith they’re filled with is not your human faith.
Galatians 2:20 says,
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
I’m aware that the NIV says “faith in the son of God.” But when you study this out, it becomes very clear that it is talking about the very faith of God that He placed in you when you were born again. In fact, you can’t even be born again by your own faith. Romans 10:17 say that faith comes by the Word, and 1 Peter 1:23 says you are born again by the Word of God.

If you can’t even believe for salvation with our human faith, how could we possible use it for other things like healing or prosperity? It’s super important that you understand this. If you don’t know this, you will always be looking to others to pray for you. You’ll always think that they have more faith than you do, and because of that, God will act on your behalf when they pray. That’s wrong, and it’s the reason many Christians are looking to man instead of God for their answers.
Romans 12:3 says,
“For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith” (underline mine).

Think of it like using a ladle to dish up soup. If you used the same ladle every time—and God did—every person will get the same amount of soup. It’s the measure of soup. You have the measure of faith. No born-again believer has more faith than any other; some just do a better job of appropriating what they have been given.
Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” And verse 3 says, “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”

This scripture is not symbolic; God actually created everything with words. He spoke creation into existence, and the substance of His faith manifested into what we can now see. The Word of God has unlimited power.

Each word is like a little capsule filled with faith waiting for us believers to release it in our hearts and speak it with our mouths.
Everything we see was created by words, and it is the very Word of God that holds the universe together (Heb. 1:3). Therefore, everything we see will respond to faith-filled words. They have to respond because words are the parent force.

So many times the words of death are spoken into our lives, over our lives, and about our lives without any realization of the power and consequences they possess.

We are or have become conditioned to believe the old saying that sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me. That is a lie, a masterly crafted deception breathed from the pits of hell. Yet many people don’t realize that it is a trick of the devil, because it seems as though it is just a kids saying or something we teach kids to make them feel accepted when others talk about them. We brush it off and say things like don’t pay them any attention because words can’t hurt you, they are just jealous of you.

“Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways”.
Job 22:28

Do you know the power of decrees? The Bible was not created just to read. It is more powerful than we can ever imagine if we actually choose to use it.

As Christians, we have a huge advantage of having this book to deal with anything we have going on in life- but most of us were never taught how to actually use it to create tangible change.

THE MORE SCRIPTURES YOU HAVE INSIDE OF YOU THE MORE IMMOVABLE AND UNSHAKABLE YOU BECOME.

The word was meant to be spoken. Out loud. Every day. Over any circumstance you have going on that needs to be changed.

Power in the Word!
This is not the post to go into the science of how the Word does indeed change the physical world. In short, let’s just say that from a quantum physics perspective, the vibrations and energy that these words release into the atmosphere are powerful. After all, God did speak the world into form, and we are made in his image. Meaning, the words we speak actually have the power to create.

It is time to be intentional about speaking what we want to create and speaking the promises of God to bring the manifestation of them in our lives.
When we realize that the Word can physically change our reality, you view it entirely differently. It is not an obligation to read and memorize- it’s a thrill.

Power of Words
Words create life or death. Truly. This is why everything you say, speak over yourself, and agree with has a major impact over your body and life. We do this all the time without thinking about it…..I am bad at……., I can’t…. I always…. I am worried… I don’t like this…..I don’t want this to happen….. what if….I have xyx diagnosis. . . I’m always so tired. . .

I don’t like the Word ‘spells’ because I’m not involved in anything occult, but I also think the occult has taken many things from Biblical principles and manipulated them in ways that were never intended.
For example, they know the power of words. They for sure know the power of Words Spoken by God. You need to see speaking God’s Word as powerful as they see speaking a spell.

What the Word says about what you speak:

A fool’s mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul. – Prov 18:7

Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, Sweet to the being, and healing to the bones. Prov 16:24

DECREE A THING!

What is a Decree?
A decree is an official order issued by a legal authority.
A decree is taking Gods words and speaking it out. We have been given the authority from Jesus to make these decrees into our realms of influence and as we do it we begin to create the will of God in our life in the spiritual realm.
What the Word says about speaking scriptures out loud:
Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established onto thee and the light shall shine upon thy ways. – Job 22:28
“God confirms the word of His servant …” Isaiah 44:26
Isaiah 55:11 God said, “My word shall not return void but accomplish all it is sent forth to do.”
“Bless the Lord, you His angels, Who excel in strength, who do His word, Heeding the voice of His word” (Psalm 103:20).

What do Decrees Do?
Decrees create and make changes in the Spiritual and Physical Realm
Scripture is a powerful force that creates change in both the physical and spiritual world when spoken.
As you decree God’s word and will, the awesome power of the Holy Spirit is released to bring it to pass.
Jesus said the words that we speak are spirit and they are life.

The substance of our words goes out into the spiritual realm and starts to creates life.
Remember: “My word shall not return void but accomplish all it is sent forth to do.” In order to have what the Bible says, we need to speak it out.

Decrees Release and Commission Angels
“Bless the Lord, you His angels, Who excel in strength, who do His word, Heeding the voice of His word” (Psalm 103:20).
Angels respond to the words of life spoken by us.

When we speak God’s promises and hope into situations, we give these angelic beings something to work with to accomplish God’s will and promises in our life.

The moment you decree a thing, it will dispatch angels to go and bring fulfillment to that word of God because they obey the voice of HIS word, not your thoughts.

When you speak His word, Angels are being sent out on your behalf to carry it out. Whether you see a change or not, speaking the Word will ALWAYS do something.

One of the most powerful things you can do to transform your life is to speak and decree certain scriptures into whatever area of life you are struggling with most. Yeah, yeah, yeah….. I know you have heard that a million times but if you knew that it was actually releasing angels and creating changes in the spiritual and physical realm to change your life why WOULDN’T you do it?!
Decrees Change Your Beliefs
What you believe about yourself, the world, and your circumstances create your reality.
You create what you believe. Your beliefs control how you perceive life, how you react to situations, what you think about yourself. Whatever your life is now, is based upon your beliefs driving your actions and reactions. We are all perceiving this life completely differently right now based on the filter of our unique beliefs.

We need to reprogram our beliefs – so that our habits, personality, ways of thinking, and reactions to life are in line with the people we desire to be.

Daily decrees not only make changes in the spiritual realm, they also make changes in your mind, which then changes your brain, which then changes your the situation, body and life!
Decrees to Use Daily

My next post exlpains the exact decrees and prayers I use and say each day. For now, here are a few good ones to start with:
My spirit, soul, and body is blessed.
His hand of grace and blessings is with us and he keeps us from harm.

The favor of God on my life endures a lifetime and causes my mountains of influence and blessing to stand strong. I am are favored everywhere that I go and in all that I do. His favor opens doors of opportunities for us that no man can shut. Yeshua is a shield to us every day.

All of my needs are met according to HIS riches and glory by Jesus.

My prayers are powerful and effective
(2 Corinthians 5:21; James 5:16b).

I am blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3).
In my home and business, I am the head and not the tail, above and not beneath.

What Fills Your Heart?
It will all depend on what’s filling your heart. Jesus said, “Out of the abundance of the heart [the] mouth speaks” (Luke 6:45). A critical heart produces a critical tongue. A self-righteous heart produces a judgmental tongue. A bitter heart produces an acerbic tongue. An ungrateful heart produces a grumbling tongue.
“The words you speak will all depend on what’s filling your heart.”

But a loving heart produces a gracious tongue. A faithful heart produces a truthful tongue. A peaceful heart produces a reconciling tongue. A trusting heart produces an encouraging tongue.
So fill your heart with grace by soaking in your Bible. Soak in Matthew 5, or Romans 12, or 1 Corinthians 13, or Philippians 2. And be very careful taking in the words of death in the newspaper, the radio, the TV, or the blog.

And pray: “Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips!” (Psalm 141:3).
