Ebele who claimed to be an Evangelist before now wants to be an Igwe seven years after the process of selection of Igwe was conducted and concluded with a Certificate of Recognition duly issued by the state government to Igwe ELIBE OKONKWO, It may interest people to have a peep into the character of the person who now wants to be an Igwe. This is a man who renounced his membership of the Catholic church on the ground that they worship Mary and went to establish a Church where he is the general overseer. Every 1st January in the years past, as the leader of Pentecostal churches in Alor, he sponsored crusades in Obi Alor where he denounced all Igbo traditions including Ozo title taking and breaking of kola nut dubbing them fetish. He was at the vanguard of pushing for abolition of all our Igbo/Alor traditions.
Suddenly, after seven years of Igwe being selected, even when his village chaired the selection process, with three of his villagers, participating in the exercise through purchase of forms and attendance at selection interview, and even when approached by his villagers to express interest, where he described the igweship as meant for idol worshippers, this same Mr Ebele suddenly woke up to offer himself to be used to cause more disharmony in a once peaceful town today but with what transpired in the court Ndi-Alor are hoping that the law takes its full course so that sanity would be restored in the once peaceful town and teach those goading him on especially an ABUJA minister to respect constituted authority and rule of law while serving as a deterrent to others who may be nursing such a peace disrupting dream in other towns in Anambra State in particular and IGBOLAND in general.
