In its version of the report, The Punch stated that the source of the fire was yet unknown but firefighters from the Oyo State Fire Service had arrived the scene to douse the fire.

The fire incident comes amid Igboho’s quit notice to herdsmen in Igangan, Igbarapa North local government area of Oyo state, after accusing them of being behind the kidnapping and other criminal activities in the area.

The move eventually led to violence in Igangan as the house of Seriki Fulani, Salihu Abdukadir, was burnt down.

Igboho’s quit notice and directive issued by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to herdsmen in Ondo state about the same time further generated tension, forcing southwest governors to meet with the herders association, Miyetti Allah on Monday, January 25.
