THE SICKNESSES OF THE EGYPTIANS

IN THE DAYS OF HIS POWER SERIES.

TOPIC: THE SICKNESSES OF THE EGYPTIANS

SERMON BY-:

Jehovah-Rophi

“I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians”.
“I am the Lord that healeth thee.” — Exodus 15. 26.

How different is the Lord to his foes and to his friends. His presence is light to Israel and darkness to Egypt. Egypt only knew Jehovah as the Lord that plagueth and destroyeth those who refuse to obey him. Is not this the Lord’s memorial in Egypt that he cut Rahab and wounded the dragon? He overthrew their armies at the Red Sea, and drowned their hosts beneath the waves; but to his own people, in themselves but very little superior to the Egyptians, God is not the terrible avenger consuming his adversaries, but “Jehovah that healeth thee.” Their mental and moral diseases were almost as great as those of the Egyptians whom the Lord cut off from before him, but he spared his chosen for his covenant sake. He bared the sword of justice against rebellious Pharaoh, and then he turned his tender, healing hand upon his own people, to exercise towards them the heavenly surgery of his grace. Israel knew him as the Lord that heals, and Egypt knew him as the Lord that smites. Let us adore the grace which makes so wide a difference, the sovereign grace which brings salvation unto Israel, and let us confess our own personal obligations to the mercy which has not dealt with us after our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

“But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed”
Isaiah 53:5

Healing is God’s will for you and God is more willing to heal your body than you’re willing to be healed. God says, “For I am the Lord that healeth thee” – that is present continuous tense. Present continuous tense is used in a sentence to show an ongoing action, which means God did not only heal in the past, but is still healing today. Beloved, receive healing to your sick body now in Jesus Name, Amen.

It’s your covenant right as a child of God to enjoy both divine healing and divine health. God says, “I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians”.”,
The devil uses the pain of sickness to make you forget that Jesus already paid the price for your healing in full. The Bible said, “After this, Jesus, knowing that all things had already been accomplished, in order that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I am thirsty” (John 19:28). Beloved, no matter the sickness you are suffering from now, Jesus can heal you.
Behind every sickness, there is a spirit known as the spirit of infirmity. In Luke Chapter 13, Jesus healed a woman who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. Her body was bent over and could not straighten up at all. When Jesus saw her, He called her forward and rebuked the spirit that crippled her and she was healed instantly. Beloved, by the authority given to me by Christ, I rebuke every spirit of sickness now in Jesus Name.

When God speaks a word, He will hasten His word to perform it (Jeremiah 1:12). None of God’s promises will fall to the ground. It must be fulfilled in your life (1 Samuel 3:19). God Had promised, “I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians”.

Beloved, I pray that the sicknesses of the Egyptians shall be far away from you in this year 2022 and beyond in Jesus mighty Name.

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, .
Psalm 91:1-16

He would come as the Horn of salvation for the lost sheep of the house of Israel. He would come to heal the nation from their spiritual sickness, awake them from their spiritual slumber and remove the blinkers from their spiritual blindness… for He said to them, “If you will give earnest heed to the voice of the LORD your God, and do what is right in His sight, and give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I, the LORD, am your Healer.”

He would save His people from the hands of their enemies and rescue them from those that hated them. He would come in holiness and righteousness to bind up their wounds and heal His people from the sin and the suffering that has plagued this world since the fall of Adam. He would come as the Promised one, Who would fulfil the covenant God made with His people. He would come as the Sacrifice for their sin.

Jesus is the one Who heals the brokenhearted and Jesus is the one Who sets the captives free. Jesus is the one who made the deaf to hear, the lame to walk, the blind to see, and the dead to rise into newness of life – for every attribute of the Almighty, Everlasting God, pointed towards the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, the incarnate God, and perfect Man – The Lord our Healer.

It was to Moses, in the nation’s infancy, that God revealed Himself to His people as Yahweh-Rapha – “I am the Lord that heals you,” and David expanded this glorious truth in so many of his psalms, for we read: “He forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases. He redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion.” – “How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven – whose sin is covered.”

He is the one Who rights all wrongs, and He is the one who performs righteous deeds and judges the oppressed in righteousness. And as with all of God’s good and perfect gifts, the healing He gives to all the redeemed is beyond our understanding and has an eternal perspective.

God often heals the physical wounds and earthly diseases that trouble our mortal bodies, and play heavily on our minds and emotions, but oft-times He whispers into our hearts, “My grace is sufficient, for My strength is made perfect in your weakness… in your sickness, in your hardship – in your loss, and your pain.” But the incomprehensible truth of Jehovah-Rapha, is that His healing touch also spans the eternal sphere and the spiritual realm. I am the Lord Who heals you SPIRIT, SOUL, and BODY.

I am the one Who heals your spirit – when you were justified, through initial faith in Jesus as Saviour – PAST salvation. I am the one Who heals your soul – through the sanctification process, as you walk in faith and grow in grace – ONGOING salvation.  I am the one Who heals your body – at the Rapture of the church and resurrection of the dead-in-Christ – FUTURE salvation.

God’s gradual unveiling of His perfect character throughout the pages of Scripture, progressively reveals His eternal plan of redemption, which is perfected and completed in the Lord Jesus. Let us always remember that our eternal healing took place at the cross – and if physical healing is withheld, there is a reason that God knows about – and His grace is always sufficient.

My soul seems to grasp this, and to hold it all the more firmly because the Lord has turned my bitter circumstances into sweetness, and he has healed the sickness of my body. Because of these former mercies I know that he will heal the sickness of my spirit, and I shall be whole, that is to say holy, without spot or trace of sin, and so shall I be for ever with the Lord. “Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”

My Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You, that You are the great healer.
