LACK OF CONVICTION, SELFLESSNESS BANE OF NIGERIA/AFRICA’S POLITICAL LEADERSHIP

By the evening of Tuesday , February 1st 2022 , a coup de tat was in full swing in Guinea Bissau , a west African country practicing a democratic system of government , the optics is less blurry when we take into consideration the fact that within the past few months , about 5 other west African Nations saw a change in power via Military action , just like Guinea Bissau , when things are put into context , it raises a demeaning picture regarding leadership in sub Saharan Africa and rightly so , I am in no way an advocate of military rule, having witnessed the perks of martial law myself but history has it that there is always pretext for such a take-over and 90% of the time the reason is incompetence , corruption and lack of credibility in civilian government , this is true as far as the west African sub region is concerned , we are lacking greatly in leaders who inspire.
Make no mistake about it, the situation is actually much more complex and intriguing than we can imagine, such factors as greed, joining the band wagon, political ambiguity, an altered form of partisan politics juxtaposed with tribe and religious sentiments are just a few of the ingredients that ruin the meal , these are the reasons why politicians in Nigeria barely have an adequate score card in terms of merit , but is there a solution ? Of cause there is.
Hacksaw Ridge is a 2016 War Movie which tells the true story of Private Desmond T. Doss , who won the American Congressional Medal of Honor despite refusing to bear arms during WW2 on religious grounds . Doss was drafted and aggressively ostracized by fellow soldiers for his pacifist stance but he went on to earn their respect and adoration for his bravery. Much like the American Army in the context of Doss’ Biography , the Nigerian Political arena is the same way , without certain ideals even the most chaste politicians would be entrapped and enticed into joining the band wagon through intimidation and the likes, hence the circle repeats itself.

WHY PEOPLE LIKE REV. PEACE IS NEEDED IN NIGERIA’S POLITICAL ARENA
But then again, and quite rarely, there arises extraordinary personalities who just like Private Doss, are gifted with the conviction to repel every shenanigan thrown towards them.
CONVICTION is a strong word , CONVICTION can move mountains , CONVICTION is a concept lacking in the Nigerian Political sphere . Ever since the first , second and third republic , we have been lacking in leaders who lead with gusto , zeal and selfless service all while basking in their CONVICTIONS , such leaders as Michael Okpara , Sam Mbakwe etc , there needs to be a paradigm shift if we are to get it right this time and that paradigm shift comes in the mold of people like Rev Innocent Peace Udochukwu , a man of the people, a true statesman , a man whose CONVICTION is unparalleled.
A man born and bred in Eastern Nigeria, a man who understands the intrigues of leadership and can navigate is waters without hassle having been at the helm of affairs of different organizations which includes but not limited to the immediate past National Coordinator of Ngige Mandate Movement, a ferocious political machinery which made Ngige the candidate to beat between 2007 – 2011, President Congress For Igbo Agenda (CIA) a voiceferous Igbo political pressure group, Executive Secretary OHANEZE Amuwo-Odofin LGA and Publicist for OHANEZE Lagos State 2013-2015 a man who understands the grassroots and knows the problems facing the grassroots, a man of the people, a man who inspires followership, a consummate media consultant, Broadcaster, serial Entrepreneur and philanthropist , a man of God on a divine mission buttered with self motivation and conviction.
Rev Peace as he is fondly called by friends and fans is the answer to the prayers of every well meaning Nigerian. Rev Innocent Peace Udochukwu is a man of conviction and it is only a matter of time before true representation is experienced in his Constituency in particular and in Nigeria in general.
His is a divine mandate and with Rev Innocent Peace Udochukwu, mountains will be moved for inclusive representation, development and continued prosperity of his town ALOR, Idemili North/South, Southeast region and Nigeria.
