“Blessed is he who blesses you, And cursed is he who curses you.”’
Numbers 24:9 ‘

How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the Lord hath not defied?
— Numbers 23:8

Whenever fear and envy are your driving forces, disaster abounds.

Balak’s fear and envy of the Israelites prompted him to request that Balaam curse them. He cited the claim that blessing and curse would fall upon whomever Balaam decided.

Numbers 22:5-6 (NLT):

“Look, a vast horde of people has arrived from Egypt. They cover the face of the earth and are threatening me. 6 Please come and curse these people for me because they are too powerful for me. Then perhaps I will be able to conquer them and drive them from the land. I know that blessings fall on any people you bless, and curses fall on people you curse.”

Balak wanted Balaam to curse the Israelite, but God ordered him not to do so, stating that: “You are not to curse these people, for they have been blessed” (Numbers 22:12).

I want to share with you about an interesting character in the Bible who actually tried to curse God’s people. He attempted unsuccessfully to do it multiple times — which proves that the devil cannot curse what God has blessed ! The example of Balaam shows that witchcraft, divination, and curses simply have no impact on people who are walking with the Lord.

It was simply impossible for a curse to be pronounced where God had pronounced a blessing! It was true then, and the same is true today.

Balaam serves as a reminder of God’s divine protection. Balaam — one of history’s most famous sorcerers — was unable to penetrate God’s protective shield that held fast and secure around His people. Even today, there are some who allege that people involved in the occult have the power to curse believers. However, Scripture clearly teaches that no one has the power to curse what God has blessed. The story of Balaam serves as a perpetual reminder that what God has blessed is blessed, and that fact cannot be reversed.

Blessing/Curses come from God. No man has control over your life except God. This includes high priest or voodoo priests.

Whatever God has blessed, His character will NOT let Him curse.

God is sovereign. When he says yay or neigh, he has considered ALL the evidence. You CANNOT bring him new insight that will sway his decision.

If you are in Christ and walking in obedience to God’s Word, you are safe, secure, and sealed in the protective blood of Jesus — and the power of that divine protection can never be breached by someone operating under, or in cooperation with, the powers of Satan. You need never be fearful of any curse assailed against you or your loved one, no matter how dark or “powerful” the vessel through which the curse tries to come. The occult has never been, and will never be, a match for the power of God that is inside a believer. This is precisely why the apostle John wrote, “…Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4)!

Again, when God has blessed someone, be careful how you go up against that person. Don’t let envy bring you to your demise. When you go up against that person, you might be going up against God Himself. Remember, God has to defend His promise. It is who He is.

Psalm 105:15 (KJV) says:

Touch not my anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

I encourage you today to cast off fear of the devil or fear of anything that anyone has told you about the possibility of being cursed. If you are in Christ, you are the blessed of the Lord — and what God has blessed, no one can curse!

Now when Balaam saw that it pleased the Lord to bless Israel, he did not go as at other times, to seek to use sorcery, but he set his face toward the wilderness. And Balaam raised his eyes, and saw Israel encamped according to their tribes; and the Spirit of God came upon him.
Then he took up his oracle and said: “The utterance of Balaam the son of Beor, The utterance of the man whose eyes are opened, The utterance of him who hears the words of God, Who sees the vision of the Almighty, Who falls down, with eyes wide open: “How lovely are your tents, O Jacob! Your dwellings, O Israel! Like valleys that stretch out, Like gardens by the riverside, Like aloes planted by the Lord, Like cedars beside the waters. He shall pour water from his buckets, And his seed shall be in many waters.
“His king shall be higher than Agag, And his kingdom shall be exalted. “God brings him out of Egypt; He has strength like a wild ox; and shall consume the nations, his enemies; break their bones And pierce them with his arrows. ‘He bows down, he lies down as a lion; And as a lion, who shall rouse him?’ “Blessed is he who blesses you, And cursed is he who curses you.”’
Numbers 24:1-9 ‘

And thus Balaam blessed the Israelites instead of cursing them as he was contracted to do.

Therefore we are blessed because God fulfils all His promises.
blessed
In Christ Jesus we are blessed. God chose us before the foundation of the world to reveal Himself to us and through us reveal Himself to the world. God is with us. He is our God. God is in us and goes before us.
What God has blessed no one can curse.
IN CHRIST JESUS WE ARE:
seated in heavenly places with His spiritual power and authority
holy and without blame before Him in love
adopted as sons of God the Father, in the beloved and most loved
redeemed through His blood and eternally forgiven
in close relationship with the Living God who makes His will known
passed from judgement having obtained an inheritance of eternal life
given His name and His presence within
each day surrendered to Him growing in His love, truth and power
as He is now, so are we in this world
Finally in Christ Jesus the revelation of His perfect love for us and in us, defeats any fear, satan and our flesh. Together let us take hold of the power and authority He has given us over satan, over the evil spirits and over our own flesh. By His Spirit let us advance His Kingdom here on earth in His name to the glory of our Father.

MY PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, I rejoice that because I am in Christ, I am the blessed of the Lord and protected by the blood of Jesus Christ. The devil does not have the power to curse what God has blessed. Holy Spirit, I receive Your help to walk in obedience to the Word of God and to shun anything that would violate the supernatural shield of protection that surrounds my life.

I pray this in Jesus’ name!

SHALOM!
