GOD HAS GIVEN A COMMAND TO BLESS ME

IN THE DAYS OF HIS POWER SERIES.

TOPIC: GOD HAS GIVEN A COMMAND TO BLESS ME

COMPILED/EDITED BY-:
Rev. Innocent Chukwudi Peace-Udochukwu President Living Fountain Ministries Int’l LIFOM

“I have received a command to bless:
he has blessed, and I cannot change it.”
Numbers 23:20

“and he hath blessed, and I cannot reverse it;”

Here is a blessing spoken of. The Lord that made heaven and earth has been pleased to bless his people. And this blessing has several peculiarities about it, of which we shall speak particularly.

God has blessed them, has determined to bless them, has promised to bless them, has blessed them in the victories he has given them, and will complete the blessing of them, by bringing them into the land he has given them: so the blessings which God has designed for his spiritual Israel, and bestows upon them, are irreversible; they are blessings indeed, spiritual ones, and are for ever; he blesses them with himself, as their covenant; God, their portion here and hereafter, with Christ his Son, and all things with him, with righteousness, peace, and pardon, with his Spirit and the grace thereof, with sonship, heirship, and eternal life.

“No misfortune is seen in Jacob, no misery observed in Israel. The LORD their God is with them; the shout of the King is among them”
Numbers 23:21

We all want to live blessed lives and experience the promises and blessings of God. We want to live lives where we’re free from sickness and disease, our relationships are thriving, money isn’t a struggle, debts and bills are paid, and we are blessing others. But many Christians struggle with how to take hold of these blessings. In the Bible, God gives us the key over and over again to unlocking His blessings. That key, in a phrase, is “delight yourself in the Lord.” Psalm 112:1, KJV, says it this way, “Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in His commandments.”

OBEDIENCE ALWAYS BRING BLESSINGS

“Not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
The will of God alone is the source of the rich, eternal, saving blessing, which abounds towards the Lord’s elect. If ye are blessed of the Lord who made heaven and earth, ye are not a people who claim to have deserved his favour; ye abhor all boasting in self, and ye magnify divine mercy. Free grace is the Shibboleth of the true saints: those who cannot speak out upon that point may well question their lineage. If ye talk of deserving, ye belong to another race; ye are of the seed of Hagar, and belong to Sinai, in Arabia, and therefore ye are under the law and under the curse. No blessing comes to sinners by the way of the law, but the very reverse. They only shall participate in this blessing who receive it by promise and by covenant, being the seed of Abraham by promise, even as Isaac was, who was born not after the flesh but after the Spirit. Glory, then, be to God, at the very outset of our meditations, that he has been pleased to set apart unto himself a people, elect according to his own eternal purpose in Christ Jesus. Of them and of them only has he said, “Ye are blessed of the Lord that made heaven and earth.”
This is true doctrine according to the Scriptures, and the regenerate feel the truth of it confirmed in their own experience.

Hopefully by now, you’ve figured out that God isn’t some Santa Claus in the sky who comes down your chimney and leaves you exactly what you want under the tree. He isn’t a genie in a bottle who appears at some chance moment to grant you three wishes in life. No, no, no. God is so much more. “He is the Alpha and the Omega, the One who was, who is and who is to come”
(Revelation 1:8).
He is the Source from whom all things—including you—were created.

When we live obedient lives, those who know and love us will sense the peace and joy he has given us. Instead of conflict, there will be contentment—and that is just one part of experiencing God’s goodness

Job 22: 28 (AMP) “You shall ALSO DECIDE AND DECREE a thing and it shall be established for you and the light of God’s favour shall shine upon your ways”. Psalm 81:10 “I am the LORD thy God who brought thee out of the land of Egypt: OPEN THY MOUTH WIDE and I will fill it”

IT has been established that nothing happens until we open our mouths to speak. And a closed mouth breeds closed action, closed heaven and closed destiny. What you verbalise and declare continue to create what manifests in your life. In Matthew 12:37 “For BY THY WORDS thou shalt be JUSTIFIED and BY THY WORDS, thou shalt be CONDEMNED”.
What people say about you is not final. It is by your own words that you will be justified or condemned. The spiritual force of God controls the physical realm and as such, your SPOKEN WORD determines the atmosphere and substance of things you create. The Scripture says there are a time to keep quiet and a time to speak (Ecclesiastes 3:7). And Jesus taught us not to take sides with negative mountains of challenges but to speak against them.

The blessing spoken of comes not from an idol-god. The psalm leads us to make that observation. The gods of the heathen had mouths, but they spake not; ears, but they heard not: any benediction from them would be a mockery: but the children of God are not blessed of Baal or Ashtaroth, but of Jehovah, the self-existent Lord of all! They receive no benediction from the priest who ministers at the shrine of a dumb god of silver, or a dead god of flour and water.

Compared with the benediction of the Lord who made heaven and earth, what a paltry thing is the blessing of a priest! Indeed, he is utterly impotent to bless. If he has any power, it lies in the opposite direction. He can curse the victims of his false teaching, but he cannot benefit them. His pax vobiscum is not worth the time spent in the speaking it, his plenary indulgence defiles the paper it is written on. A priest’s blessing and a cockatrice’s egg are of equal value. But to be blessed of Jehovah is a reality, as saith the Psalmist, “Blessed is everyone that feareth the Lord, that walketh in his ways. For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands; happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.”

Let this console thee — thou art blessed of him who made thee, and, therefore, knows how to anoint every wheel of thine inner workmanship with the sacred oil of his grace. Take that thought into thy spirit too, he made heaven and earth, and, therefore, thou art never out of his domain. We read of him that he hath a desire to the work of his own hands. He hath made thee, and he will not leave thee. Dost thou leave thy children? Dost thou forget thine offspring? Hast thou not heard that a woman may forget, and may fail to have compassion upon the suckling of her own breast, but God cannot and will not forget thee. He will be mindful of thee, for as man, and especially as regenerated man, thou art one of the noblest works of his hands.

“Thou art now the blessed of the Lord.”

  • Gen 26:29

If God has richly blessed us, notwithstanding all our faults and failures, surely we should learn to forgive many injuries done to ourselves. If the Lord forgives us our debt of ten thousand talents, we must be willing to forgive our fellow-servant his debt of a hundred pence. Child of God, if you are now the blessed of the Lord, you will often turn a blind eye towards the offenses of your fellow-men. You will say, “God has so blessed me, that I can well overlook any wrongs that you have inflicted, any hard words that you have said. I am now blessed of the Lord; so let bygones be bygones.” May you have grace given to you to do that now.

The primary goal of God’s perfect plan is to demonstrate the glory of God. A secondary goal is to accomplish the good of those who love God: “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose”
(Romans 8:28).

The blessing of God directly relates to two matters: (1) the overcoming of God’s curse, and (2) the cursing of Satan which promises his condemnation and destruction. The Abrahamic covenant takes up the promise of blessing:

Biblical Truth

You were created for blessings! You were created to steward blessings
You were created to be a blessing.

You are blessed!

BLESSING CONTAINS A WORD OF IDENTIFICATION

“The Lord will establish you as a people holy to himself, as he has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in his ways. And all the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you.”
Deuteronomy 28:9-10

A BLESSING CONTAINS A WORD OF PROTECTION

“The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.”
Deuteronomy 28:7

A BLESSING CONTAINS A WORD OF PROVISION

“The Lord will open to you his good treasury, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands. And you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you shall only go up and not down”
Deuteronomy 28 12,13

A BLESSING CONTAINS A WORD OF MULTIPLICATION

“Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your cattle, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock. Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.”
Deuteronomy 28:4,5

A BLESSING CONTAINS A WORD OF PRESERVATION

“Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.”

A BLESSING CONTAINS A WORD ABOUT GENERATIONS

“And the Lord will make you abound in prosperity, in the fruit of your womb and in the fruit of your livestock and in the fruit of your ground, within the land that the Lord swore to your fathers to give you.”
Deuteronomy 28:11

I am blessed! I am called to walk in blessing and release blessing. I am blessed today, tomorrow and everyday thereafter. I have been blessed with a long, healthy, prosperous life. Therefore I will live a blessed life with a crown of righteousness on my head, a garment of praise above me, and a mantle across my shoulders to do what I am called to do. The The Lord has set his Angels all around me to keep my steps straight. I am blessed with strength and wisdom and will walk in the ways of the Lord.

I bless myself this day for an encounter with God. I bless my countenance to draw in from that encounter and my face to glow with God’s glory. His glory shall be seen upon me and it shall influence all who come in contact with me this day.

I bless myself to be in the right place at the right time and to walk with a right spirit before my fellow man and family. I will walk right into destiny and divine appointments today. If there is catastrophe today, I shall not be there when it happens. I shall be hidden in the rock of my God. If there is violence today, I will not be there; the angels of God shall direct me away from the path of the violent. I will hear of it, but it will not come near to me. I am not under the circumstances, under the weather, or under fire. I am mounting up, and I have a broad wing span. I will rise above it all.

The sword of the Lord is drawn against those that seek after my soul. The spear of the Lord is aimed against those Satan has sent to persecute me. No evil communication shall be successful against me because I am God’s favored servant. No evil communication shall be successful against me because I am God’s favored servant. No curses that are spoken against me, released towards me, or sent my way by the wicked or the religious will be successful against me this day. They will not light upon me but slide down to the ground, sterile and non-effective.

A wall of fire is about me, and a canopy of fire is over me. The banner of the Lord is over my head like a personal rainbow.

I am under authority. I am under the blood, and I am under the whole armor of God. Every weapon formed against me will misfire today. I declare that I am God’s darling (Psalm 35:17). I am the favored of the Lord. A Joseph mantle is upon me. I am set apart for such a time as this. In the spirit world, I walk with a coat of many colors. I have the wisdom to prevail and solve mysteries, the strength to persevere, and the mind to excel and succeed.

My enemies will spread their nets for my feet, but I will see their pit and step around their trap. I shall escape; yet they shall fall into the very hole they prepared for me. This day, God is in the process of frustrating the tokens of the liars. He is bringing great controversy to my enemies’ camp. Confusion totally drowns those that would dare to tamper with God’s purposes for my life.

I bless my:

Blood to flow right!
Heart to beat right!
Bones to be strong!
Muscles to carry me where I need to go!
Skin to insulate and seal me!
Organs to function the way God intended when He put me in my mother’s
womb!
Youth to be renewed like the eagles’!

I do not just believe I am blessed; I walk it out. I will demonstrate it. I decree it to be so. I speak that the mountains be brought down, my valleys be brought up, and the path of the Lord be made straight in my life. My way is not hard nor the path difficult.

I am alive by Jehovah’s decree. I will stay alive and be active and productive. My life will be full of good works so that when Jehovah decrees my time is up I will not linger nor languish, but have treasures to lay at the Master’s feet. It will be a life well lived! I bless myself in Jesus’ Name!”
