IN THE DAYS OF HIS POWER SERIES.

TOPIC: I SERVE A GOD WHO NEVER FAIL.

“There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.”
Joshua 21:45

SUMMARY: Whatever you do if it is of God it shall succeed no matter the challenges but if not of GOD, you might have all the money, people and so on and so forth and you shall fail.

We live in a world that is broken, broken by sin and as we look about us it seems that everything is failing; all of our institutions are failing, our economic system is failing, and as a result there is a great deal of dysfunction, distrust, despair, and disillusionment. The things that we have counted on for generations seem to be crumbling before our eyes. Is there anything left that we can count on? Our text this morning is about the faithfulness of God. God proved over and over again that whatever He told the children of Israel would become a reality in their lives. Joshua is reminding them of that so that they would have courage and confidence in God for now and for the future. We can have that same courage and confidence in our own lives as we trust in God too!

History reveals that the smartest of men had their failures. Most of the 1,093 inventions of Thomas Edison were failures. Albert Einstein failed his entrance exams when attempting to enter the university. Henry Ford failed to put a reverse gear in his first car. Abraham Lincoln was defeated seven times when running for various political offices.

The Bible reveals that man, at his best, has failed!

Many years of disappointment had followed the lives of Abraham and Sarah. The time had long gone when they expected to be able to have children. They were simply going on, in at least this part of their lives, based on faith. The substance of their hope was their confidence that God would do what he had promised that he would do.

Both Abraham and Sarah had at different times laughed at the thought of having a child, the baby was named Isaac, which means laughter. Think of the joy they had when Isaac was born. Think of the strength they had when they realized that their confidence in God was justified. What kind of lessons can we see from this event in the lives of Abraham and Sarah?

God often sends the greatest joy during the darkest hour.

The God we serve never fails. He has no credibility gap. We can trust ourselves and all that we have to him. God will not fail. In fact, he will never even disappoint.

My prayer is that this message opens your eyes to God’s incredible kindness and generosity toward those who love Him.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose”. Romans 8:28

As a human being I always want things to go my way. I have a myopic view, unlike God who has the big picture and my best interest at heart. But I erroneously was expecting the Lord to make my life a bed of roses without challenges or difficulties. I was treating God as a genie, doing whatever I wanted and God would always bless it.

However, all things work together for those who love Christ. Not only what I see as good, but also the ones I consider bad in my human understanding.

As I desire to grow in my spiritual walk with God, I have come to understand that it will come with trials and challenges which I must embrace as I seek His wisdom and guidance through all the changing scenes of life.

Like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego (Daniel 3:16-18) answered steadfastly that no matter how hot the furnace may be they will not succumb to the gods of the world, I have learned to follow their example of following the Lord unwaveringly—telling myself no matter how dire my circumstances may become, His word shall still reign supreme and upon it I lay anchor.

“God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” (Numbers 23:19).

What comfort, confidence, and blessed assurance to know that you can trust God with your life! You can depend on Him to take care of you and guide you into your destiny; the destiny of His working! He’s trustworthy, faithful and reliable! He never fails. When you trust in the Lord you shall not be confounded (1 Peter 2:6). That means you’ll never be disgraced or “put to the blush,” for trusting God.

The Scripture is replete with testimonies of those who, in defiance of life-threatening circumstances, demonstrated absolute trust and confidence in God and experienced a miracle.
No wonder the Psalmist declared “In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what can man do unto me” (Psalm 56:11). God never fails or disappoints. The Bible describes Him as the friend that sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24). He’s the very present help in times of need (Psalm 46:1). All you need do is call on Him. He said “Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honour me” (Psalm 50:15). This is God’s invitation to you to trust Him, irrespective of the challenges you might be facing right now, and He’ll not fail you. He wants you to put your trust in Him alone, and rest your faith on His Word. Let His eternal Word be your hope and the anchor for your soul.

Remember, God and His Word are one: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1). Thus, to say God never fails means His Word never fails. The Bible assures us that though heaven and earth shall pass away, God’s Word remains steadfast forever. His Word always comes forth with enough power to effect a change in you. So, demonstrate your trust in Him today, and take Him by His Word. Act on His Word today, for He never fails. He’s the all-powerful and eternal God of glory, the maker and ruler of heaven and earth.

“The LORD frustrates the counsel of the nations;
He thwarts the plans of the peoples.
The counsel of the LORD stands forever,
the plans of His heart from generation to generation.”
Psalm 33:10-11
