THE GREATEST FORCE IS THE FORCE OF FAITH

IN THE DAYS OF HIS POWER SERIES.

TOPIC: THE GREATEST FORCE IS THE FORCE OF FAITH

SERMON BY-:
Rev. Innocent Chukwudi Peace-Udochukwu President Living Fountain Ministries Int’l LIFOM

“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
Matthew 17:20

Faith is a force, a spiritual force. If you know anything about spiritual things, you know that physical things are controlled by the more powerful world of the spirit. Physical things are controlled by the more powerful world of the spirit. Now, all through the gospels, Jesus talks about faith and believing. And even Paul, as he writes the epistles, the same thing. As a matter of fact, he says that the just shall live by faith. That’s in the Old Testament and the New Testament. And so if you’re going to live by something, you certainly need to know how it works.

“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” Romans 10:10

Faith moves the hand of God. Faith is a force that can do the impossible anytime. Faith can even cause time to speed up and slow down. That’s how powerful faith is.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report” (Hebrews 11:1-2).

To believe on the Lord Jesus Christ with all our heart is one of the simplest things imaginable. To trust Christ, to depend upon his power and faithfulness, is such a childlike act that one sees no extraordinary difficulty in it. Yet, to bring the human mind to exercise simple faith in Jesus us is a work of the most astounding power. To bring down the pride of man, to subjugate his will and to captivate his passions, so that he shall cheerfully accept that which God presents to him in the person of Christ Jesus, is a labour worthy of a God. How strangely vile are they who cannot be brought to know their own mercies, except by an omnipotent power. The blessed Spirit of God is always the secret Author of faith; it is not of ourselves, it is the gift

You have a mighty and power force inside you—the force of faith! Although faith is not tangible, it is a substance that can be formed into the fulfillment of God’s promises. Develop and use faith today, because your faith in God’s Word leads to your victory!

The Spirit of Faith

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 15:13

The Bible says we are spirit beings and talks about the “hidden man of the heart” (1 Peter 3:4). Man is a spirit, he has a soul, and lives in a body (1 Thessalonians 5:23). Bible faith is of a man’s recreated spirit, not of his mind or flesh. It is a spiritual force! The Bible calls it “the spirit of faith.”

Bible faith—does not insulate Christians from encountering life’s problems. But it does ensure that we come out of every situation as the victor, not the victim!

We know that God wants us to have His kind of faith. The God-kind of faith believes and speaks. That’s how God created the universe. (See Genesis chapter 1; Mark 11:22–24; and Hebrews 11:1.)

Faith is neither a psychological nor philosophical force; it is a spiritual force. It is not an intellectual issue either; it is a spiritual virtue that operates within the spirit of man not in his head.

Faith is a spiritual force. In other words, faith is a spiritual issue, not a natural issue. Faith is of man’s spirit, not of his mind or body.

When we are dealing with faith in God, faith from God, and the faith of God, we must realize that God is a Spirit (John 4:24). Therefore, faith in Him is a spiritual issue to be discerned and operated spiritually.

Jesus said that His Word is spirit and life (John 6:63). Therefore, Bible faith comes from God’s Word: “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Rom. 10:17). God’s Word has the ability to produce a spiritual force within our hearts called “faith.”

As we hear the “logos” or the written Word of God, it develops faith inside of us. We believe the logos—the written Word of God. Then as we speak the logos Word of God, in a sense it becomes a rhema Word of God to us.

The word “rhema” is a Greek word. In its literal sense, it simply means “speaking” or “the spoken word.” The Word of God that is spoken in faith becomes the “rhema” Word.

Therefore, the rhema Word of God—the Word of God spoken—is a spiritual force. It must be dealt with spiritually. Unless you understand it spiritually, there is no way to explain the rhema Word of God. The Bible says that spiritual things are spiritually discerned.

The only thing that is guaranteed to keep you going despite life’s many challenges, is faith. Faith is the belief that there’s better in store for you based on what God said. Faith is what makes you hold on to your dreams against all odds.

“The exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: and hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.”
—Ephesians 1:19-23.

The Bible tells us that faith is being sure of what we hope for and being convinced of what we do not see. Sometimes your physical senses will not give you an accurate representation of your life. That’s why you need to see with your heart and your spirit.

French writer, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry said: “And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”

Abraham in the Bible is known as the father of faith because he ignored what his eyes saw, that he and his wife were too old to have children, and believed what God said. Faith is knowing that God exists, and trusting that he will do all he has promised.

However, true faith is made evident by action. Whatever you claim to believe that hasn’t spurred you to action isn’t faith. If you truly believe that you will be successful, it should cause you to change some things in your life.

We don’t wish for faith but work at faith. Faith does not answer to wishes; it answers to workings, that is, working with the Word of God. Whether it is conventional faith or supernatural faith, all forms of faith draw from our Word bank or reservoir.

The kind of faith that gets results is the kind that is backed by action. Faith without works is dead. God is ready to take you to your desired destination, but he requires your active partnership as proof of your faith.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
Timothy 4:7

The fight of faith is a good fight because you’ve already won the battle. Faith is the key to getting consistent results and achieving sustainable success. It’s time to run your race with purpose and fight the good fight of faith.
