“But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall”.
Malachi 4:2

Jesus Brings Delivering Greatness
A most blessed scripture is found in Malachi 4:2: “But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings.”

This prophecy of the Messiah from Malachi was fulfilled when the woman who had the issue of blood touched the “hem of his garment.” The word wings in Hebrew is kanaph and can be translated corner or skirt, as well as the wings of a bird. The knots of the tassels at the corners (wings) of the prayer shawl, were called tzizit, or “fringes.”

In Matthew 9:20, this “edge of his clothes” is what the woman came to touch when she wanted to be healed. The woman was acknowledging that Jesus was a great healer, but also that this prophecy in Malachi of him being the Messiah was being fulfilled. She was “declaring her faith in God’s prophetic Word.”

Matthew 14:36 And they were begging him that they might touch [him], even if only the outer edge of his clothing. And those who touched were healed.
In this record, the Aramaic word for “outer edge” is very similar to the Hebrew for wings, kenpha. The words for healing in Malachi and in Matthew both imply soundness or wholeness. All those who came to Jesus were made whole. It is the same today!

Psalm 61:4 “I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings.” Selah.

Covert means a shadow or shelter. So “under his wings” has the idea of protection, as well as healing.

Psalm 91:4 “He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.”

I will flee for refuge under his wings!

Jesus shall rise with healing in His wings of faith, wings of love—what wings they are! The Son of the Living God has come with healing in His wings. Why make it hard to receive healing? I believe in His healing wings.

Maybe you’re suffering with a disease you’ve had a long time, a chronic disease. Maybe you have a disease that the doctors said you will have to live with, but that’s according to medical science, not to Jesus who came with healing in His wings. He brings that delivering greatness, that power; and when He lands, the miracle is yours. When He lands you can be made whole all over like He made me.

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
Isaiah. 53:5

Christ died on the cross so that those who believe in Him and receive Him as Savior will experience spiritual healing and restored fellowship with God (Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24). We don’t have to fear the day of judgment because we have the hope and the promise that “the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings”
(see John 3:18; Matthew 25:33–34). Believers can take courage in knowing God is “a sun and shield,” who gives us grace and glory and withholds “no good thing from those who do what is right” (Psalm 84:11, NLT).

Friend, we serve a Mighty God, He has given us a promise of not just life, but life more abundantly.

“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”
I Peter 2:24

The greatest twist in the History of Mankind was when satan believed he won, but 3 days later he face faced with a crushing defeat.
Jesus Victory on the Cross paved the way for us to have a right relationship with God
We simply need to do our part to receive it.

When Jesus comes to us, it is not so important how or why we are in the condition we are in. Jesus comes to us in compassion and in His grace, He comes to heal us and deliver us. He is full of compassion and He passes our way with the purpose of setting us free. If we are bound by the Devil, when we meet Jesus and call on His name, He is there with all the power of heaven to heal us and deliver us. If we are sick, Jesus is there to heal our broken bodies. If we are bound by some other mental affliction or physical addiction, Jesus comes to set us free.

Good Friday is a time to remember to sacrifice Jesus made to provide a path to restore mankind. Tied to Jesus’ Death on the cross, we see Jesus bore the stripes to provide a means for us to receive healing. The stripes He bore are just as relevant today as the day He was brutally beaten. Let’s agree with the Prophet Isaiah and the Apostle Peter, in believing By His stripes, I am healed!

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
2 Timothy 1:7

The highest pinnacle of the spiritual life is not happiness and joy in unbroken sunshine, but absolute and undoubting trust in the love of God.

Life is filled with situations and conditions that can intimidate us.

Sometimes, we are afraid of our past and how it may influence our future
Sometimes we are afraid of the competition we face at school or in our careers
Sometimes we are afraid of imminent disgrace and embarrassment concerning our finances or other situations of life.
While these situations are real, and we have to face them, God tells us not to be afraid or anxious because He has not given us the Spirit of fear.

Fear can be defined as a weapon of Satan intended to sabotage your future. Fear sabotages the future by bringing in anxiety, confusion and an inability to make sound decisions.

The above scripture gives us a clear antidote to fear in whatever situations we might encounter: THE SPIRIT WHICH GOD HAS GIVEN US – THE HOLY SPIRIT.

The Spirit of God in this verse is described as the Spirit of power, love and sound mind.

POWER: Because left to our own selves we can do nothing on our own but when we rely on the Holy Spirit, He makes what looks impossible to become possible.

Ephesians 3:20 Says:
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us”

LOVE: Because the Holy Spirit pours God love into our hearts. When we have this love in our hearts, we realize that whatever task God wants us to accomplish is really not about us but about God and other people. This way, we can forget about ourselves and do exploits in the name of God. Romans 5:3-5 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

SOUND MIND: Because you do not have desires or make decisions arbitrarily, rather only as the Holy Spirit communicates God’s mind to you. 1 Corinthians 2:12 What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.(NIV)

So what next? You have not been given the spirit of fear, overcome fear in your life by the Spirit of POWER; LOVE and SOUND MIND in you.

LET US PRAY
Thank you Lord for the truth in your word. Now I know the Spirit that lives within me. I choose to conquer every challenging life situation by the Spirit of power, love and of a sound mind in Jesus name. Amen.

Jesus, we praise you. You are our life, our righteousness and our joy. Oh, God, we fear your name. Teach us to fear your name. Just to see you, to know you in greater and deeper ways. Teach us to know your holiness, your glory, and your grandeur. Help us learn the weight and wonder of who you are. Also help us to not treat sin lightly, to run from sin, to hate sin and to cling to Jesus, our savior, our life, at every moment. Looking forward to the day of judgment, not because we will have been good enough, but because we have trusted in Jesus who is good enough and he has become our life. We have experienced healing in his wings.
