“And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:”
Ephesians 2:6

We are seated with Christ in heavenly places. Joint-seating with Christ is “far above” all principalities and powers of darkness. Evil spirits can’t influence believers who are seated with Christ in heavenly places!

Our seating and reigning with Christ is a position of authority, honor, and triumph—not failure, depression, and defeat

“…He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.”
Ephesians 1:20–21

Because we are believers, our seating with Christ is part of our inheritance now. This is where we are already seated, because when Jesus was seated in triumph, we were seated with Him.

So there are principalities, powers, and rulers of the darkness of this world.

Also, Paul refers to the highest cadre as wicked spirits in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12 AMP). These set up their thrones and operate in the heavenly places; they control large dominions, rule over nations and regions. They also control the affairs of men who yield themselves to the devil. But as you study Ephesians 2:6, you observe that you’ve been raised together with, and made to sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. You’re seated with Christ, far above all principality and power and every organization of the adversary. That means you’re superior to even the highest ranking demons!

Realize that you occupy the place of authority in Christ, far above satan and everything that’s connected to him. Satan is a defeated foe, who’s been stripped of all power, influence and dominion. So, it doesn’t matter if he assigns himself or his demons to monitor your activities and try to ruin things for you, they’ve been programmed to fail! In Christ, you defeated satan and all his demons and overcame all the manipulative and evil structures of the world set up by him. Colossians 2:15 (MSG) describes the current dismal and completely powerless state of satan and his cohorts after what Jesus did to them: “He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority at the Cross and marched them naked through the streets.”

So for you as a child of God, the devil and his demons don’t count, so never be afraid of them. Not only has Jesus given you power and authority to cast out devils (Mark 16:17), He also made you superior to satan and his demons. So you shouldn’t have a care in the world about satan and his evil structure and activities in the earth, for you’re seated with Christ in the place of power, “far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come” (Ephesians 1:21).

When we get the revelation of our position in Christ, what a difference it will make in our lives! We will no longer be the defeated Church. We will take our place as the triumphant Church, which was God’s design from the foundation of the world.

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places.”
— Ephesians 1: 18— 20.

Everything depends upon the opened eye: the scene may be fair, and the light may be bright, but if the sight be gone all is in vain.

But if believers need to have their eyes enlightened, how much more must those who are unconverted. They are altogether blinded, and consequently their need of enlightenment is far greater. They were born blind, and the god of this world takes care yet further to darken their minds.

God may give thee eyes with which to verify our report. Perhaps even the reporting of these things may set thee longing for them, and, when thou hast but a longing, God will hear thee. If that longing be turned into a prayer, and that prayer be kindled by a spark of faith, that longing shall be the beginning of light to thy soul, and thou shalt see the salvation of God.

Isn’t it wonderful to know that God does not measure and judge you based on your performance today? Instead, He looks at Jesus, and as Jesus is, that is how He sees you. His Word declares that “as He is, so are we in this world” (1 John 4:17).

Notice that it does not say that “as Jesus was on earth, so are we in this world.” That would be amazing enough because during Jesus’ ministry on earth, healing, blessings and abundance followed Him everywhere He went. Yet, that is not what the Word says. What it says is, “as Jesus is” (present tense).

In other words, as He is right now, so are we in this world!
So just consider where Jesus is today. Right now, He is seated at the Father’s right hand, “far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.” If I were you, I would take some time to meditate on this passage because as Jesus is, so are you right now, in this world.

Meditate on how as Jesus is “far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named,” so are you! See yourself as Jesus is, far above every principality and power, far above every disease and physical condition, far above every kind of fear, depression and addiction, and begin to reign over every negative situation in your life today!

Confession:
I am seated together with Christ in the heavenly realms, far above principalities and powers, where I reign and rule as a king in this life. I live in dominion over sin, sickness and infirmities, and I’ve overcome the world!
